How to Configure an Email Client (Outlook, Thunderbird, MacOS, iPhone, Android) Using MioriticHost
Any email address created through MioriticHost can be configured in email clients such as Outlook, Thunderbird, MacOS Mail, or mobile applications. Proper configuration is important to avoid authentication errors, IP blocking, and issues with sending or receiving messages.
Below you will find the exact steps and correct settings for each client.
2. Recommended General Settings (SSL/TLS)
These are the settings you must use in any email client:
Username: full email address (e.g. email@yourdomain.com)
Password: the password you set for that email account
Incoming Server (IMAP): mail.yourdomain.com – Port 993 (SSL)
Incoming Server (POP3): mail.yourdomain.com – Port 995 (SSL)
Outgoing Server (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.com – Port 465 (SSL)
Authentication: YES (required for IMAP/POP/SMTP)
3. Configuring Microsoft Outlook
Outlook usually detects the correct settings automatically, but if an error appears, configure it manually:
Open Outlook → File → Add Account
Enter your full email address
Select Advanced options → Let me set up my account manually
Select IMAP
Enter the recommended SSL settings above
Save and test the connection

3.1 SMTP (Outgoing Mail) Configuration in Outlook
Sending emails depends on correctly configuring the SMTP server. Here are the recommended Outlook settings:
Outgoing server (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.com
Port: 465
Encryption: SSL / SSL-TLS
Authentication: Required
SMTP Username: your full email address
In Outlook, you can find these settings at:
File → Account Settings → Your Account → More Settings → Outgoing Server
3.2 What If Outlook Cannot Connect via SSL/TLS?
If Outlook cannot connect on ports 993 / 995 / 465, the issue may be your network or internet provider.
Some ISPs block SSL ports to prevent unknown encrypted traffic or to filter SMTP connections.
In such cases, Outlook may show errors like:
“Cannot connect to server”
“The connection timed out”
“Username or password incorrect” (even when the password is correct)
If you see these errors, try configuring NON-TLS.
3.3 Alternative: NON-TLS Configuration (Only if SSL Fails)
If SSL ports are blocked, Outlook can still work temporarily without encryption. Here are the NON-TLS settings:
IMAP NON-SSL: Port 143
POP3 NON-SSL: Port 110
SMTP NON-SSL: Port 587 (STARTTLS or None)
In Outlook, adjust ports in:
Account Settings → More Settings → Advanced
MioriticHost Recommendation: Use NON-TLS only temporarily. SSL is always recommended for security.
4. Configuring Mozilla Thunderbird
Thunderbird is very easy to configure:
Open Thunderbird → Create a new account → Email
Enter your name, email, and password
Click “Configure manually”
Select IMAP or POP3
Enter the SSL servers
Select “Authentication: Normal Password”

Incorrect ports → 993/995 for incoming, 465 for outgoing.
SMTP authentication required → enable “My outgoing server requires authentication”.
